About us
The Data State Inspectorate was established on 2 January 2001 to operate in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law, based on the Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No 408 of 28 November 2000 Regulations on the Data State Inspectorate.
The Inspectorate is a government authority providing the supervision of personal data protection under the auspices of the Ministry of Justice.
The Data State Inspectorate is pursuing the goal set with the Personal Data Protection Law to protect the basic rights and freedoms of natural entities, in particular the inviolability of privacy, concerning the processing of data of natural persons.
The duties of Data State Inspectorate include:
- control and supervision of processing of personal data statewide in compliance with requirements of the Personal Data Protection Law
- control the compliance with safety requirements concerning the safety of information in personal data processing systems
- handle complaints, make decisions related to protection of personal data, draft recommendations
- register personal data processing systems to develop the Personal Data Processing Register
