The annual conference of the European Law Institute is to take place in Riga from 5th to 7th September 17.08.2018
From 5th to 7th September the University of Latvia, Riga (19 Raina Boulevard) is to house one of the most important law forums in the European Union (EU) – the annual conference of the European Law Institute. The opening is to take place on 5th September at 7.00 p.m. at the Latvian National Museum of Art (1 Jana Rozentala Square).
The conference organized by the European Law Institute every year gathers around 400 participants from various countries around Europe and world: people from legal professions, academics from leading European universities, judges, including Judges from the Court of Justice of the European Union, active lawyers, representatives from the leading European law offices, heads of the European-level professional associations of free legal profession.
This year the European Law Institute’s annual conference is to take place in Riga and shall be included in the events of the Latvia’s centenary, thus symbolizing development and membership of Latvian field of justice in the European environment. The Institute was established in 2011 to improve the quality of the EU rights. Its principles of operation are based on studies and recommendations within the context of development and integration of European rights. Over years, the forum has taken a major role both in development of legal scholarship and networking. Therefore, the Institute’s Assembly in Riga opens a lot of opportunities for Latvian lawyers in the context of application of EU laws, implementation of different-level projects, further integration and involvement in the European legal environment.
