The Ministry of Justice reports that on Tuesday, 3 February 2026, Liepāja Prison officially began operations in its new buildings at 29 Alsungas Street. During the day, all inmates were transferred to the new premises. From now on, the Liepāja Prison unit of the Prison Administration will continue its full operations at the Alsungas Street location.
The Ministry of Justice and the Prison Administration express their gratitude to the State Police and other services for their cooperation, as well as to the residents of Liepāja for their understanding regarding minor traffic restrictions in the city.
