The Register of Enterprises (UR) has unveiled a new registration service for limited liability companies (SIA) and small-capital SIAs, in which all documents are automatically generated by the system. Considering that in 2024 nearly 80% of newly registered companies were small-capital SIAs and SIAs with a single founder, this tool will be valuable for many aspiring entrepreneurs, significantly simplifying the registration process and saving time.

Minister for Justice Inese Lībiņa-Egnere emphasised: "I also see my mission as Minister for Justice as creating a convenient and reliable legal environment for entrepreneurs – with fewer bureaucratic barriers and more opportunities. Through digital solutions and modern legislative changes, we are not only making it easier to start a business, but also building a country where innovation is supported in practice. Latvia has talent – and the state must ensure it can grow freely. I therefore invite every Latvian entrepreneur to believe in their idea and register their company – it’s simple, fast, and convenient."

With the new service, the system automatically generates all the documents required to register an SIA: the application, decision on establishment, articles of association, and the entry in the register of shareholders – all based on the data entered by the client. To start the registration, the client must log in at registrs.ur.gov.lv, then select the service marked “with system-prepared documents”. The necessary information is entered in the data fields, and once the system generates the documents, the client can review and confirm the details. To complete the registration, the client signs the documents within the e-service and pays the state fee. This service is intended for cases where one natural person is the founder, board member, and beneficial owner of the SIA or small-capital SIA, and will sign all establishment documents.

“Less time on paperwork, more time for ideas – the new registration service clears the path to business, allowing you to focus on what matters most. Now, preparing the documents to register a new SIA takes up to 5 minutes,” noted Chief State Notary of the Register of Enterprises Laima Letiņa.

In closing, Laima Letiņa added that the UR will continue improving other services – such as change registration and liquidation filings – and will introduce the option to submit documents in Latvian and simultaneously in English, making services faster and more convenient for clients.

A video demonstration of the new service is available on the UR YouTube channel here.
