On Tuesday, August 11, the Cabinet of Ministers approved Vita Narnicka as the Director General of the State Land Service.

Congratulating the new Director General, the Minister of Justice Jānis Bordāns pointed out: "Taking into account V. Narnicka's professional experience so far, I am convinced that the new Director General of the State Land Service will implement positive reforms that will provide a more complete and expanded range of services to all residents of Latvia. I have already received a number of commendations from NGOs and businesses for this choice. "

Based on the results of the open competition, the evaluation commission of the candidates for the position of the Director General of the State Land Service established by the Minister of Justice J. Bordāns decided to nominate V. Narnicka to the Cabinet of Ministers for appointment to the said position.

Narnicka meets the requirements set in the job description of the Director General of the State Land Service, as she has obtained the highest evaluation in the verbal  evaluation interview of applicants and in the assessment of management competencies.

Narnicka's current job is at the State Revenue Service, where V. Narnicka has been the Director of the Informatics Department since 2013 and for the last four years - also the Deputy Director General. Prior to that, she was the Deputy Director for Research and IT at the State Regional Development Agency where she served for four years and ensured the creation, maintenance and development of central e-government solutions. From 2006 to 2008, V. Narnicka headed the E-Services Development Division in the Secretariat of the Minister of Special Assignments for Electronic Government Affairs. V. Narnicka has also worked at the Procurement Monitoring Bureau, where she headed the Procurement System Improvement Department and in the final year she also held the position of the Deputy Director. In addition, V. Narnicka from 2005 to 2009 was also a lecturer at the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications of Riga Technical University.

Narnicka holds a master's degree in telematics from the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications of Riga Technical University.
