On September 10, 2015 at the University of Latvia, Faculty of Law, Raiņa Boulevard 19 at 14:30 in Auditorium 7 and at 18:15 in Auditorium 21 will be held presentation of results of the European Commission specific programme “Civil Justice” project JUST/2013/JCIV/AG/4691 “Court of Justice of the European Union and its case law in the area of civil justice” (hereafter – project).

During the event will be presented results of the project, as well the research „The Court of Justice of the European Union and the impact of its case law in the area of civil justice on national judicial and administrative authorities” and the Recommendations and Guidelines „Effective adoption, transposition, implementation and application of European Union legislation in the area of civil justice” that were conducted within the project. The research and guidelines were conducted by Inga Kačevska Law Office, in close cooperation with experts from Ministry of Justice of Latvia and foreign partners of the project.

The event will be led by Dace Pelše, Director of Department of Cooperation with the Court of Justice of the European Union of the Ministry of Justice, leading expert of the project, Gunvaldis Davidovičs, assistant to judge at Republic of Latvia Supreme Court, as well legal advisers of Department of Cooperation with the Court of Justice of the European Union of the Ministry of Justice Jēkabs Treijs-Gigulis and Kristaps Freimanis.

The implementation of the project was started on 1st of March, 2014. The project is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of Hungary, the Hungarian Office for the Judiciary of Hungary, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Justice of the United Kingdom. The aim of the project is to remove obstacles in EU civil justice area, analyzing application of EU law in the field of civil justice at the national level, as well as to contribute proper application of CJEU case-law in the decisions and judgments of national courts and in drafting national legal acts. The implementation of the project will be finished on 31st of October, 2015.
