Description:
The multilingual standard form shall be drawn up within a reasonable time period of not more than 30 days.
Multilingual standard forms (hereinafter - Form) have been in operation throughout the European Union since 16 February 2019 and their implementation aims to simplify the presentation in other Member States of public documents issued in one Member State by eliminating the need for translation of documents. The multilingual form shall be attached to a public document issued by the authority of a Member State and shall have no permanent legal effect and shall not be used separately without the public document to which it relates. If a form is attached to the public document, it is no longer necessary to certify this document by “Apostille”. (1) A form for a re-registration certificate or a statement regarding the registration of civil status acts; (2) a form for a statement regarding the registration of civil status statements, which has been signed with a secure electronic signature, shall be issued by the Department of Justice. The form can be obtained in one of the following languages: English, Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, French, Gaelic, Greek, Croatian, Estonian, Italian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Hungarian, Swedish. The form shall be issued only for a statement regarding the registration of a civil status act or for a registration certificate issued during the period starting on 1 January 2013. If a form for a statement regarding the registration of a civil status deed or a civil status registration certificate issued prior to 1 January 2013 is required, the person must request a document certifying the repeated civil status, submitting an application with a request to issue a statement regarding the registration of a civil status deed or a re-registration certificate of civil status statements with a form attached to it. The form cannot be added to the marriage registration statement if the marriage is divorced. It is also possible to request a form for a statement regarding the registration of a civil status deed or registration certificate for civil status statements in any Latvian local government family list department and the diplomatic and consular representation of Latvia in foreign states. If a person wishes to attach the form to a newly issued certificate issued after 1 January 2013, it may only be requested by the Latvian municipal family list departments or Latvian diplomatic and consular missions in foreign states.
