Making supplements to the entry in the Birth Register
The Department of Justice Dzimtsaraksts shall make changes to the entry of the birth register after the receipt of the court adjudication, if the entry of the birth register has been drawn up in the Latvian municipal family register department. The court which has issued a judgment on the adoption of a child must send the judgment to the Department of Justice Dzimtsaraksts after the entry into force of the judgment. The parents of the minor child may also submit a court judgment for the performance of the supplement to the entry of the Birth Register - electronically in the Department of Justice Dzimtsaraksts or in person in any division of Latvian correspondence, which will transfer the court judgment for enforcement to the Department of Justice Ministry's Dzimtsaraksts. If the fact of birth of a child has been registered in another country, but the fact of adoption has been decided in the Latvian judicial authority, the Department of Justice Ministry's Dzimtsaraksts may not comply with such court judgment.Receipt of a birth certificate
A birth certificate, in accordance with the judgment of the court regarding the approval of adoption or the annulment of adoption, may be obtained in any local government family list department or diplomatic and consular representation of the Republic of Latvia in a foreign state
